• Diemaking Then and Now

Gone are the days when a Diemaker started a business in his Garden Shed.

Only 2 decades ago Diemakers used pencils and rulers to draw out patterns on the baseboard.

Guiding and pushing a sheet of plywood against a jig saw blade to obtain the slots for the steel rule to be inserted.

Then bend and shape the rule with bench hand benders. Biceps of Diemakers, much to be admired!

    A true cottage industry.

All change, in a burst of new technology. Computer aided Drawing ( CAD) , software became available. Linking Lasers to burn the slots for steel rule to be inserted. Automatic Benders used to shape the rule and complete the process, with gauranteed accuracy.

ESC is part of this modern scenario of suppliers to the Diemaking and Diecutting industry.

Plywood from Finland and Russia. Lasers from USA.. Auto Benders from Italy. Steel Rule - Austria.

Expert Diemaking and Diecutting in the UK.
